Long sprigs of rosemary tied together make an excellent basting brush for the barbecue. When you're finished basting your food, throw the sprigs onto the coals for added flavor.
Sour Milk Biscuits

Ingredients are for 24 Biscuits.

1/2 teaspoon
1 teaspoon
1 teaspoon
1 tablespoon
1 cup
Additional Info:

If your sour milk is very sour, add 1/2 teaspoon more of baking soda.

Directions:

Preheat oven to 400°F / 200°C / Gas Mark 6

Mix together the flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt.

Add the shortening and sour milk. Mix well.

Roll out to about 1/2 inch thickness.

Fold in half and roll out again.

Cut out with a biscuit cutter and place on a greased baking sheet.

Bake in a hot 400°F oven for about 10 minutes.

Add a bay leaf to your flour container or sugar container. This will keep insects out and won't affect the flavor.
