Simple Syrup

Simple Syrup is one ingredient you should keep on hand. It's useful in many recipes.

Directions:
On high heat, bring water to a boil in a large saucepan. Reduce heat to medium, add sugar and stir until completely dissolved.

Reduce heat to low and simmer 5 minutes until mixture has a light syrup consistency.

Remove from heat and cool completely. Pour into a container that has a tight fitting lid, and refrigerate.

Refrigerated, in a tightly closed container, simple syrup will keep indefinitely.
