Directions:
In a heavy saucepan, heat the oil, butter and chopped onions. Add the Port wine when the onions turn slightly brown.
Add thyme, chestnuts, chicken stock and season with salt and pepper.
Cover and cook until chestnuts are tender and have absorbed most of the liquid about 20 to 25 minutes.
