Lemon Sauce For Poultry

This Lemon Sauce doubles nicely as a delicious marinade for chicken. Simply marinade your chicken in it for 2 hours before grilling.

Ingredients are for 1 Cup

Ingredients:
Qty Unit Ingredient
2 tablespoons Brown Sugar
2 teaspoons Cornstarch
4 tablespoons Lemon Juice
5 tablespoons Water
3 tablespoons Soy Sauce
1/2 teaspoon Garlic Salt
1 clove Garlic » minced
2 tablespoons Margarine
1/2 teaspoon Lemon Pepper
1/4 cup Green Onions » tops, chopped
Prep Time Process Time Overall Time
10 Minutes 10 Minutes 20 minutes
Directions:

1. Mix the cornstarch and brown sugar in a small saucepan.

2. Stir in the remaining ingredients except the green onion tops.

3. Blend well and heat to boiling.

4. Add the onions and immediately turn heat down.

5. Stir constantly until sauce is thickened and bubbling.

6. Use this sauce to baste poultry during last few minutes of grilling.

7. You can also use this sauce as a marinade.

8. Put sauce in a heavy plastic bag along with 2 to 3 pounds of chicken pieces and marinate for 2 hours to overnight, turning bag to coat all sides of poultry.

9. Use the leftover sauce to brush on chicken while grilling, but don't use it as a final sauce, as it has been in contact with raw chicken.
