1. Boil or steam the Fava beans until tender and then remove the outer skins.
2. Drain.
3. This could take from 20 minutes to 40 minutes, depending on the size of your beans.
4. Heat the oil and butter in a large skillet to shimmering.
5. Add the garlic and sage and stir over medium heat until the garlic is tender.
6. Add the Fava beans and stir to coat.
7. Season to taste with salt and freshly ground pepper.
8. Serve hot.
