Festive Cranberry Sauce

Ingredients are for 2 Cups.

12 ounces
2/3 cup
1 cup
1/2 teaspoon
2 tablespoons
Directions:
Mix 1/4 cup water together with the cornstarch in a small cup until smooth, to make a 'slurry'. Set aside.

Combine cranberries, sugar, the remaining 3/4 cup water and almond extract in medium saucepan.

Bring to a boil over medium-high heat.

Reduce heat to low and simmer, uncovered, for about 5 minutes or until cranberries are tender and sugar is dissolved.

Return cranberry mixture to a boil over medium-high heat.

Stir in the cornstarch slurry.

Boil for an additional 2 minutes or until thickened, stirring constantly.

Be careful, cranberries have a tendency to splatter when they burst.
