1. Place 1 cup long grain white rice in 2-quart saucepan.
2. Add enough cold water to cover rice.
3. Wash rice by rubbing rice gently between fingers. Drain.
4. Wash rice 5 or 6 times or until water is clear. Drain.
5. Return rice to the pot.
6. Add 2 cups cold water and heat rice and water to boiling.
7. Cover tightly. Reduce heat to low and simmer 20 minutes or until liquid is absorbed.
