Devils Food Cake

Devil's Food Cake is a classic dessert cake, known for being a richer, more decadent cake to the traditional chocolate cake.

1 3/4 cups Cake Flour
1 1/2 cups Sugar
3/4 cups Cocoa Powder
1 tablespoon Baking Powder
1 cup Unsalted Butter » room temperature
1 cup Water » hot
3 large Eggs » room temperature

Directions:
Preheat oven to 350°F / 180°C / Gas Mark 4

1. Butter a 17 1/2 by 11 1/2-inch jelly roll pan.

2. Line it with parchment paper, dust the sides with a bit of flour, and tap out the excess flour.

3. In a large bowl, combine the cake flour, sugar, cocoa powder, and baking powder.

4. Gradually add the butter, mixing until it looks crumbly.

5. Mix in the hot water until everything is smooth.

6. Beat in the eggs one at a time, ensuring the mixture is fully combined.

7. Spread the batter in the prepared pan and bake in a preheated 350°F oven for 18-22 minutes.

8. Let the cake cool completely after removing it from the pan.
