Asparagus Won Tons

3/4 inch Vegetable Oil for frying
1 package Vegetable Soup Mix
1 cup Asparagus finely chopped
1/4 cup Water Chestnuts finely chopped
20 each Won Ton Wrappers 3 inch squares

Optional Ingredients:
1/2 cup Soy Sauce Add to shopping list

Portions


In an uncovered skillet, heat 3/4 inch of oil to 360°F.

Meanwhile, in medium bowl combine 1 envelope instant vegetable soup mix, chopped asparagus, and finely chopped water chestnuts.

Place 2 teaspoons of the mixture on the center of each Won Ton wrapper. Moisten the corners with water. Fold the wrappers, corner to corner to form a triangle. Press edges firmly to seal the contents.

Fry in the preheated hot oil until golden brown; drain. Serve, if desired, with soy sauce.
Tips and Hacks

To prevent bamboo skewers from splintering in the heat of the grill or broiler, soak them in cold water for about half an hour and place them in the freezer for a few minutes before using.
