1/4 pound Butter
4 cups Milk
1/2 cup Whipping cream
1/4 cup Raisins
3 tablespoons Sugar

Break vermicelli into 3 inch pieces.
Melt butter in 4 quart pot. Over low heat stir vermicelli into butter until it turns lightly brown. Add the milk and stir over medium heat until the milk boils.

Add raisins, sugar and the optional chopped almonds. Continue to cook over low heat for 10 minutes. Add whipping cream and continue to cook until incorporated.

Remove from heat, pour into a serving bowl and chill in the refrigerator before serving.
